I had to wake up at 830 am yesterday. Because I had to go allllllll the way to friggin Serendah (Rawang) for my ad shoot for Nescafe. Where is Serendah? Serendah is some place in Rawang where it is an Orang Asli Kampung.
Orang Asli Kampung? Nahh, my role was not to act as one laa.. I dun hav to wear my bra and panty to bathe in the river ler..
My agent picked me up from my house at 915am. We had to go to the production house first to meet up with the rest of the talents. We reached there about 10 am. From there, we had to go to Serendah on our own. NO TRANSPORTATION was provided by the Production House because they were already there at 430 AM~!~!
Anyway, my agent and I drove behind one of the talent’s bf’s car which was a Merz Compressor. We were in a "1.0 Ferrari". They were leading the way because they were having the map. My agent’s "Ferrari" was doing it’s best to follow the other car at 130 km/hour. His "Ferrari" was practically floating. Each time at the toll, the Compressor had to wait for us because we had to use the Stupid Tag as we’re not SMART.
We got lost a few times as none of us are familiar with that area. Finally, we managed to reach Serendah Police Station after an hour ride. The production ppl came to pick us up because we cudn’t make out the map’s direction after the Serendah Police Station.
On the way to the shooting location, we had to pass the orang asli village. Throughout the journey, it reminded me of the route to Cameron Highland. If you’ve been there before, there are alot of org asli kampung’s along the road to Cameron Highland. It was the same here in Serendah. I even saw lil kids answering Nature’s Call at the roadside. We had to hon them as they were too engrossed in finishing their business =P
When we almost reach the shooting location, we couldn’t drive in because the road was too narrow. Thus, we had to walk there and it was about 3 mins walk on soft sand ground. Mind you, I was wearing heels and I was practically making holes on the ground. Yes, my heels were very dirty after the walk.
Once we reached the shooting location.. I was like .. wow..
The place is a perfect escape from the hustle bustle of the city. It’s like a mini resort hidden in the jungle. There were chalet’s between the trees and they were very well maintained. There was even a glass house built right above a stream. Beautiful. Now I know why the place was chosen for the shooting. Too bad I didn’t bring my camera along. If not, you can see what exactly I saw that made me fell in love wit the place.
Despite the haze, I took a deep breath to fill my lungs with so-called refreshing air of the jungle. Haha.
We had to do our make up immediately in one of the chalets there. The chalet was pretty nice. Got air-con, 2 queen size bed and open air toilet and bathroom. Cool uh.. U can take ur piss and shower while the monkeys watch u from the trees =P
My scene was suppose to be in a house. So they had to put "house" make up for me. It’s amazing that what make up can do. They put really thick make up on me but it looks like nuthin right? They also gave us our outfits which was just plain shirt and jeans. Each of us had different colors. I wore yellow, malay girl wore pink and indian girl wore blue.

All 3 of us were ready by 2 pm. They were still shooting sum mat salleh girl at that time. She’s damn pretty la.. typical european face but damn kao sombong. Her agent clinged on to her like so scared other ppl will take her away from her. She’s one of the Main Talents ler.. Her pay was RM 2.5k.. O.o" Mine’s like.. AH@!! Dun wanna saY!!
Anyway, while waiting, me and the other 2 girls in my scene did some bonding session over lunch and tes since we are close friends in the scene. Over LUNCH AND TEA! That’s how long we waited to do our scene.
Our turn came only at 4pm. Waited bloody two hours. Our scene was in the glass house I mentioned earlier. It was raining at that time and it felt so cosy.. Ahh.. With all the greens and the pitterpatter of the rain, I felt like dozing off.
Finally, my first time in a production of a tv commercial. To tell you the truth, I was pretty nervous at that time. It’s like I was so afraid that I’ll screw up and because of me, we hav to retake and retake over and over again. While the crew set all the cameras and lightings, the director told us what we should do in this scene. He’s a very nice guy. Very friendly and he actually remember us by our names~! Tho I suppose it’s his duty to do so =P
Anyway, for this scene, all 3 of us are suppose to act like we’re having fun playing scrabble while enjoying NESCAFE.. Of all the people, I had to hold the fuggin hot mug with REAL NESCAFE in it! I was sitting in the center holding the mug while my two other friends "playfully" squabble over the scrabble. If holding the hot mug wasn’t bad enough, the Director asked me to stand up and do a retro dance! Damnit, it was so freaking embarassing! Doin a stupid dance in front of 50 ppl staring at u.. It’s sumthing very very new to me kays~ My two other friends who were in the same scene did few ads b4. So they didn’t had hard time acting ler. We were suppose to laugh throughout the whole scene. And the director kept asking us to laugh loUDEr and LoudER! More energy! More Happy! Rachel Laugh! Siti Laugh! Mira Laugh! Louder! Louder! Bigger! AH AH AH!
When he yelled Cut! My mouth already started aching.. That’s only for 1 take.. I think we took about 10 takes.. Of Laughing outta NOTHING.. Each retake, they will change the coffee.. so I had to hold HOT COFFEE the whole time. While I was holding it, the director kept yelling.."Nescafe IN.. Nescafe OUT.. In.. Out.. In.. Out.." Luckily the Nescafe didn’t climax. If not I’ll be covered with brown Sperm. Heehe..
During the act, I really felt ridiculous la.. It’s like I feel so fake.. well, it’s memang fake la.. I cudn’t imagine how it would look on camera. But when I saw them playing the scene they took of us on the screen, it actually looked good and real. Coolios! I can actually ACT =P Color do really play a big role. The combination of our outfits were really nice. It actually harmonized.
We finished at about 530 pm. Which means we were laughing for 1 and half hour non stop… Gosh.. I’m never gonna laugh for another one week. Damn tiring okayy…
Left the place with my agent in his "Ferrari". Luckily we didn’t had to follow the Merz anymore coz I think the "Ferrari" got something loose in the body d =P
All in all, it was a great experience to be in an ad production. Though I know my actual price was actually higher than what was offered to me, I’m just glad that I get to be in one AD before I leave the country =P
p/s: If u happen to see this ad on tv, make sure to notice my hands okay! If u see Scrabble board, sure can see my Nescafe Mug.. it might appear for a split second ler =P
p.p/s : Ferrari was actually a Kancil
