According to Word Web dictionary, exploitation is defined as ‘An act that exploits or victimizes someone (treats them unfairly)’
How do I defineExploitation?
Let’s put it in simple situations.
Situation #1
Have to wake up EARLY EARLY in the MORNING at 6am, prepare for work.
630 am, leave for work. Have to reach at the location BEFORE 7AM. No breakfast.
Start work at 9am. Unload from lorry, Unpack the boxes, Set up the Buntings, Set the booths, Arrange Flyers and Goody Bags, Arrange Items for Display, Stand for 5 hours non-stop, 20 mins break.
Stop work at about 330 pm, pack up, clean up, remove the buntings, roll the buntings, pack the flyers, pack the items, pack pack pack, wrap wrap wrap, pack pack pack, wrap wrap wrap, carry items to the lorry, load the items into the lorry, carry carry carry, load load load..
Can leave .. 5 PM..
Money only can receive after project. DOuble digit pay.
Situation #2
Wake up at 10 am.. have nice breakfast. Watch Tv, laze around.
12 pm, start preparing.. take loooooong shower.. tweeze hairs at unwanted places.. Make up, make up, make up.. change clothes.
1pm, leave house. Reach location before 2pm.
Reach location. Short briefing. Start work. Stand next to car. Look Pretty and Delicious.
2 hours later..
Finish work. Go back home. MOney come on the spot. Triple digit pay.
Now you tell me, which one is Exploitation…

there’s this remarkable new drug that they call viagra you know. i say situation 2 seems more like exploitation bacause they are “using”…. well let’s just leave it at using. it’s just not exploitation if you are fully aware of what the acceptance of the job entails and are not put in a compromising position.
